10kV Oil Immersed Distribution Transformer energy efficiency grade table

    default name
Oil-immersed transformers are common electrical devices, and their important parameters and related explanations are as follows:

    Electrical Performance Parameters

    1. Rated Capacity (kVA or MVA)
This refers to the maximum power that a transformer can output when operating continuously at rated voltage and rated current.
For example, a transformer with a rated capacity of 1000kVA can output 1000kVA of power under rated conditions.
    2. Rated Voltage (kV)
The rated voltage values of the primary and secondary sides of the transformer. For example, a transformer with a rated voltage of 10kV/0.4kV has a primary side voltage of 10kV and a secondary side voltage of 0.4kV.
    3. Rated Current (A)
The maximum current that the transformer can continuously carry under rated capacity.
    4. Winding Connection Group
This indicates the connection method of the transformer windings, such as star (Y) or delta (Δ). For example, Y,yn0 means that the high-voltage side is connected in star configuration, and the low-voltage side is connected in star configuration with a grounded neutral point.
    5. Impedance Voltage (%)
When the secondary winding of the transformer is short-circuited, and the primary winding is supplied with voltage to make the secondary winding current reach the rated value, the percentage of the applied voltage on the primary side relative to the rated voltage. The smaller the impedance voltage, the larger the short-circuit current of the transformer, and the higher the system stability requirements.
    6. No-load Current (%)
The current flowing through the primary winding when the transformer operates at rated voltage with no load, usually expressed as a percentage of the rated current.
    7. No-load Loss (kW)
The active power consumed by the transformer in no-load condition due to hysteresis and eddy current losses in the core.
    8. Load Loss (kW)
The active power consumed by the transformer at rated load due to resistive losses in the windings.

    Insulation and Cooling Parameters

    1. Insulation Level
This indicates the voltage-withstanding capability of the transformer's insulation material, usually expressed in terms of lightning impulse withstand voltage (LI) and power frequency withstand voltage (AC). For example, LI200AC85 means that the high-voltage side has a lightning impulse withstand voltage of 200kV and a power frequency withstand voltage of 85kV.
    2. Temperature Rise (K)
The difference between the temperature of the transformer winding or the top oil temperature and the ambient temperature. The temperature rise limit for the winding of an Oil-immersed Transformer is typically 65K, and the oil surface temperature rise limit is 55K.
    3. Cooling Method
Oil-immersed transformers have various cooling methods, including self-cooled oil immersion, air-cooled oil immersion, and forced oil circulation with air cooling. Different cooling methods affect the heat dissipation efficiency and application scenarios of the transformer.

    Other Parameters

    1. Tap Range
To adapt to changes in grid voltage, the high-voltage side of the transformer usually has tap windings, which adjust the output voltage by changing the number of turns in the winding.
    2. Noise Level (dB)
The noise generated by the transformer during operation, usually expressed in decibels. The noise level of an oil-immersed transformer is related to its design and operating conditions.
These parameters play important roles in the design, selection, and operation of transformers and need to be reasonably chosen and configured according to specific application scenarios.
