The oil tank is the outer shell of the transformer, which contains the iron core and windings and is filled with transformer oil, so that the iron core and windings are immersed in the oil. Transformer oil plays an insulating and heat dissipating role. Large transformers generally have two oil tanks, one for the main body and the other for the on-load tap changer. The on-load tap changer is equipped with a tap changer. This is because the tap changer will generate arcs during operation. If it is operated frequently, the insulation performance of the oil will decrease. Therefore, a separate oil tank is set to place the tap changer separately.
